 Development Committee

Brianna Morgan, a commissioned Notary Public for the state of Virginia, is a bright and knowledgeable civil rights activist born and raised in the city of Petersburg, Virginia. Formerly a Certified Nursing Assistant, Brianna began her formal education career attending Virginia State University, majoring in Mass Communications and Journalism. Brianna later decided to pursue paralegal studies after experiencing the unfairness of the justice system.

As a named plaintiff in the Stinnie v Holcomb case, Brianna worked alongside the Legal Aid Justice Center to win a preliminary injunction in December 2018, halting the unconstitutional punishment of driver’s license suspension. Brianna, who is self-described as, “… a voice for the small people, the quiet people who deserve to be heard,” shared the experiences of herself, and thousands of Virginians across the state, at two press conferences alongside former Virginia governor, Ralph Northam, in March 2019 and January 2020. She was a guest speaker at a Fresh Start fundraiser for the Legal Aid Justice Center at the University of Richmond in October 2019 and was present with the LAJC for oral arguments at the United States Supreme Court in October 2024.

Brianna is a fierce, natural leader who is full of empathy and compassion and believes in justice, fairness, and equality for all people.
