Deuel Ross

Deuel Ross is a Deputy Director of Litigation at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF), where he helps to manage the litigation department and primarily oversees LDF’s education and voting litigation dockets. He has represented clients and argued in the U.S. Supreme Court, the federal courts of appeals, federal district courts, and state courts across the country in voting rights, educational equity, and school desegregation matters. He has regularly appeared in the national media, testified before Congress, taught and spoken at law schools, and published articles regarding important civil rights issues. In addition to his board service with LAJC, he previously served on the board of directors of the Promise of Justice Initiative. Prior to joining LDF, Deuel worked in private practice and at the American Civil Liberties Union. Deuel clerked for the Honorable Roger L. Gregory on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
