Lauren McGarry

Lauren worked as a Public Defender in her hometown of Martinsville, Virginia, for approximately 6 years before joining the Legal Aid Justice Center. As a Public Defender, she represented both adults and juveniles in a variety of felony and misdemeanor cases and witnessed racial and economic injustices daily. Lauren received a B.S. in Mathematics from James Madison University before earning her J.D. from the University of Richmond in 2017.
